What it is

The team practices, communication norms, and audience-side wellbeing commitments that let the digital presence sustain itself over time. A presence that grinds people down on either side of the screen is brittle. The audience burns out and disengages; the team burns out and ships worse work. This deliverable looks at both sides together because they share the same root problem: digital practices that extract attention and effort without giving them back.

What's included

  • Team practice review. The rhythms, communication channels, decision cadences, and on-call expectations that govern how the team operates the presence. Where the load is uneven, where the bottleneck always lands on the same person, where the norms are unwritten and inconsistently applied.
  • Sustainable-pace commitments. Realistic posting cadences, response-time expectations the team can actually meet, and the boundaries that keep the work from expanding past its container.
  • Communications charter. Internal communication norms (which channel for what, response-time expectations, escalation paths) and external communication norms (tone, response standards, public-facing voice).
  • Audience-wellbeing read. Whether the digital presence respects the audience's attention or extracts it. Notification frequency, interruption design, dark-pattern audit, addictive-affordance review.
  • Community-care practices. If the presence runs a community space (forum, group, comments, Discord-or-equivalent), the moderation practices, code-of-conduct enforcement, and conflict-resolution norms that keep it healthy.
  • Sustainability check. A one-page read on whether the practices recommended above are realistic given the team's actual capacity, with adjustments if not.
